We strongly believe that Pre-schoolers are at an ideal age to start helping around the house. They’re building their motor skills so they can tackle basic tasks. They understand simple directions and perhaps most important of all, they’re enthusiastic and excited about participating in their everyday world.
For our Start Small Dream Big Project this year, we encouraged parents to engage their children in basic household chores and reward them with cash. The children will collate the amount earned through their hard work and efforts from April to June 2021 and submit it to the school upon their return after the term 2 school vacation.
We explained to the children that the money collected will be donated to Canossaville Children and Community Services as a contribution to one of their charitable projects, the “Care Packs Distribution” to underprivileged children.
Parents captured their children performing their meaningful services in photographs and sent them to our school. These pictures are displayed on our SSDB tree as positive strokes for their loving deeds.
Our centre manager sent the children’s gift (together with some voluntary contribution from our staff) to Canossaville.org.sg with our best wishes.
