Children of SKC celebrated Total Defence Day. On this special day, we are reminded of what could happen if we cannot defend ourselves, just like what had happened in 1942 during the Japanese occupation in Singapore. And from then, we learn and build resilience in keeping Singapore secure, independent and safe from threats. This event fostered a sense of appreciation to all military and civil workers, including healthcare workers of their contributions and hard work to keep Singapore safe.
Brave firefighters and police officers here to defend Singapore!
Through celebrating Total Defence Day, the children understand the importance of their role in keeping Singapore safe through the 6 pillars of defence. Social defence where community care was emphasized as the the children learn how to live harmoniously and look out for one another. Civil defence was also highlighted where the children learn how to take care of family, friends and people around us in times of crisis.
