We are incredibly proud to share that a group of 16 children from Little Atlas Preschool was selected to perform “Sunroof” at the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) movement, held at the Garden By The Bay on May 3rd. The song “Sunroof” beautifully expresses feelings of freedom and happiness, akin to the joy of feeling the wind in your hair when sticking your head out of a car’s sunroof. It serves as a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and the importance of taking care of our community.
Our participation in SSDB aligns perfectly with our school’s values. Little Atlas Preschool represented the “Caring for the Community” category, and our children wore costumes made from recycled materials. This effort underscores SSDB’s motto, demonstrating that even the smallest actions, such as reusing materials, can have a significant impact on the world around us.
The event was graced by Minister of State Sun Xueling, who joined over 750 early childhood educators, children, and their parents in this grand celebration. This event highlighted the SSDB movement’s role in strengthening partnerships between preschools, parents, and community partners. Through community service projects, SSDB helps inculcate positive values in our children, teaching them the joys of volunteering and community service.
After the ceremony, the children enjoyed the after-event activities at Gardens by the Bay. Parents and children visited the many activities and booths at the auditorium, some of which were set up by Families for Life, Red Cross Junior and Preschool Market. We toured the Tulipmania exhibition and observed the many varieties of tulips. Our unanimous favourite was the Tulipa ‘Foxtrot’! The tour concluded with a visit to the Cloud Forest.
We are thrilled to be part of this meaningful initiative and to contribute to a greener, cleaner, and more compassionate society, starting with our young ones. Let’s continue to empower our children to discover the joy of giving back and serving the community!
