World Water Day 2019, a Project that Cherie Hearts Kidz Campus @Pasir Ris Elias Mall has embarked on in collaboration with PUB for the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) 2019!
Falling on 22 March but celebrated throughout the month, World Water Day is created by the United Nations to celebrate water and promote its conservation, emphasizing on the part every individual can play. Take reference from Singapore World Water Day, the theme is ‘Make Every Drop Count’. Everyone can do in conserving water. The activities were conducted as follows:
• 15 March 2019 - Sharing session about World Water Day 2019 and showing a video (provided by PUB) on tips on saving water.
• 19 March 2019 - “Story-telling” and “Art & Craft” (“Water Wally” headband)
• 20 March 2019 - Children learned and practiced ways of saving water – K1 & K2.
• 21 March 2019 - Children learned and practiced ways of saving water – Pre-Nursery & Nursery.
• 22 March 2019 - Launch Day : Water Cycle, Water Wally Formation; Water rationing; Save Water Pledge.
On 22 March 2019, the Launch Day, all children were encouraged to wear blue shirt to school and pretended to be water droplets.
On 15 March 2019 (Friday) - Introduction of Singapore World Water Day.

On 20 March 2019, Learn & practice ways of saving water (K1 & K2). Cook Auntie poured water into a pail after washing rice.
Children used a cup to scoop water from the pail to water the plants in our mini garden.
On 22 March 2019 (Friday), Launch Day - “Sharing Session and Pledge”
Teachers conducted sharing sessions about Water Cycle, Water Wally
Children’s “Acting” Time”.

Singing and Dancing, must have activities for our event!
Water Rationing Exercise: “Janitor Auntie filled two big pails with warm water”
Teacher helped children to shower with five scoops of water for each child.
Water Rationing Exercise - Teacher filled a jug with water and then poured water into child’s mug.
Children brushed teeth with half a mug of water.
Reflection – Children shared what they had learnt through these exercises.
