7th June
Our little ones from Playgroup decorating the pots for planting use.
Nursery team on a mission to collect organic fruit peels from infantcare.
Making compost with the children. We collected all the peels and non-edible parts of the vegetables from the different classes and kitchen. Then all this was mixed up with soil and left in a safe place to decompose. We monitor this weekly mix it up when we have more scraps.
Planting
Our little ones participated in our movement too and tried to plant carrots. The process of scooping, transferring and sowing the seeds kept them curious about what’s coming next.
The latest batch of planting, was the snap beans, spinach, pal choi, Chinese cabbage and lady fingers. We are excited to see it sprout and bloom in our greenhouse. Our Kindergarten friends are better at handling the plants now.
We are grateful for the beautiful pots donated by our parents.
Kindergarten 1 collaborated with Mai Sensei to plant radish and butterfly pea and tomatoes in recycled containers.
Our pioneers shared their process and showcased their seedlings to the K1s. This inspired them to plant their own batch of seeds.
After showering our love to the seedlings, we had to let them grow in the greenhouse. Kindergarten children played their part to maintain the plants by watering and talking to the plants. They also ensured that the greenhouse was in a better location for a conducive growing environment.
Our previous batch of tomatoes, ladyfinger and green bean didn’t make it due to the high temperature.
We are grateful for the donations by our parents.
