Do not underestimate a moment of your kindness, it has the power to change lives in ways you may never know.
We started with our SSDB project on 19th May 2017, alongside with the Singapore’s Kindness Day. Many children brought along their ‘Kindness Jar’ to school and shared with their friends the kind acts they have done.
We had our Fundraising Day on the 14th July 2017. Each class was assigned to prepare a food item for our Bento Set with Love. Thereafter we put all the food items together into one big bento to sell to our parents and caregivers J The responses were fantastic! =D
The Playgroup children did their Agar Agar with the help of their teachers.
Look at their engrossed faces!
Eye-hand coordination is important here! =D
The N1 children had an opportunity to mould and bake cookies! This process helped the children to understand turn-taking and develop their fine motor skills!
The N2 children were so proud of their successful sushi! We couldn’t resist the temptation! Sushi promotes healthy eating too!
The K1 children had so much fun trying to get the stems off the grapes and the only question they asked, “How long more to finish plucking off all these grapes?!” A brilliant way to test their endurance and patience!
The K2 children became little chefs creating their very own Hotdog Buns. Lots of fresh vegetables! You name it, they have it!
The children encouraged their parents to buy as many bento sets as possible! A great way to train them in their negotiation and public speaking skills!
It was a resounding success for this fundraising project! The proceeds were donated to the charity and our children learnt a great deal from this meaningful project!
All the children and staff are looking forward to our next fun and meaningful project! Stay tuned. 😉
