SSDB Children’s Launch
Our Start Small Dream Big project ‘Wonders of Music with Greenery’ kicked off with engaging activities for children across various levels from 22nd to 26th April 2024. Through this project, children will be able to:

Develop appreciation for nature: learn about the importance of plants and trees in our daily lives
-
Acquire different lifelong skills such as creativity, problem-solving and working in a team
-
Create different musical instruments using materials from the natural environment
Infants participating in recycling activities and water play, searching for SSDB letters in a tub filled with natural materials
Playgroup children similarly engaged in recycling and environmental care games, complemented by storytelling and songs about waste management
Pre-Nursery children sorted objects made of paper and plastics, and enjoyed water play, forming the letters ‘S.S.D.B’ with dried leaves collected around the neighbourhood
N2, K1 and K2 children explored waste sorting through interactive discussions along with some games and craft activities, enhancing their understanding of recycling symbols and environmental impacts
Additionally, K2 children came up with their own lyrics to the tune ‘What A Wonderful World’ and the K1 children created the dance steps. The song ‘Wonders of Music with Greenery’ was performed by both classes during their SSDB Parent Launch.
Field Trip to Nature Kindred Farm
As part of the SSDB project, a field trip to Nature Kindred Farm was organised for N2, K1 and K2 children on 23rd April 2024. This excursion aimed to deepen their appreciation for nature and understanding of the importance of plants and trees. During the trip, children engaged in hands-on activities such as planting a succulent plant, fostering a connection with the environment.
They learnt about the several types and parts of the plants and had fun exploring the farm!
After the field trip, children were engaged in art and craft activities.
