I can be kind to myself.
At the start of our SSDB session, the N2-K2 teachers posed this question to the children, “What is kindness to you?” The children drew their responses on the heart which was decorated to make a kindness tree. The K2 children also discussed and wrote a kindness letter to themselves to create awareness on the importance of self care/love as well to feel proud when they extend a helping hand to others.
Being kind to oneself is the utmost important act of kindness. Children talked about ways they can be kind to themselves. They mentioned that their feelings or actions might affect others negatively. The teachers introduced ways for them to regulate their negative emotions through activities such as making and playing with sensory bottles/bags and doing yoga together.
Our children are officially embarked on their SSDB journey with a series of Kindness Acts specially planned together with the teachers.🤗
