We began a pre-launch session by informing the parents about the project through the newsletter and handouts.
Meanwhile , in the classroom , we had an open discussion with the children to brainstorm ideas on how to best showcase our appreciation to our community workers . One of the suggestions given was to make a door hanger . Since the door hanger cannot be physically given to the workers in this period, we sought the help of parents to work with their child at home to design a door hanger. The template was given to the children to be brought home during the weekends and to bring back the decorated version to school the following Monday to exchange with their peers in class . The exchanged piece will be brought back home and left on their door handles as a token for the cleaners to take or to be given to their family members who are frontline workers.
