As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental education for SSDB Project, our children embarked on two meaningful learning journeys. These activities were designed to deepen their understanding of marine conservation and prepare them for our upcoming project aimed at protecting marine life. The first part of our learning journey involved a hands-on river clean up with Ngee – Ann Poly students as part of our collaboration. Equipped with gloves and bags, children set out to remove litter and debris from local riverbank. This activity was an eye-opening experience as the children learned about the impact of pollution on water ecosystems and importance of keeping our waterways clean to protect marine and river life. The clean-up also gave the children a sense of responsibility and empowered them to take an active role in environmental conservation. Following the river clean-up, the children were taken on an educational excursion to the SEA Aquarium. This immersive experience allowed them to observe marine creatures up close and learn about the delicate balance of ocean ecosystems. Throughout the tour, educators at the aquarium guided the children in understanding the vital roles that different marine species play in the ecosystem. These learning journeys equip the children with both practical and theoretical knowledge, empowering them to take ownership of our SSDB Project. Their experiences have sparked curiousity and a genuine desire to make positive impact on the environment.
