Yasmine@Frankel ELC started the “Start Small Dream Big Project” in July 2020. We chose to share our July Theme on “Space Far and Beyond” with the SSBD project and did alot of wonderful work and exploration with the children and their parents. The children learnt about the different Planets in the universe besides the stars and moon, exploring the Universe wearing Astronaut’s suits in their Space Ships, they learnt the circumbulation of the planets around the Sun and was introduced to the Space Centre, NASA. The children created their own Alphabet Space ships and Rockets for the Space Corner in their classroom. The classroom was transformed into a magical Space far and beyond.

“ Sense of achievements” could be seen on the childrens’ faces. Keep it up!!
“Busy, busy, busy…the children are in full concentration creating their favourite planet. This activity supported them with the names of the planet for e.g. Saturn. They transferred their knowledge on planet Saturn’s size, and colour onto paper activity. They could identify the names of most all the planets in the Solar System.

Our “Alphabet Space ships and the Mighty Sun and Planets” decorating one of the corners in the classroom. The children get to refer to the alphabets and also have a sense of pride in the spaceships and the planets that they created themselves. This corner supported their knowledge on the alphabets, the positioning of the Mighty Sun and the names of the other planets. What a creative way to learn!
