In July, the Shell Squad explored the life cycle of endangered sea turtles! They familiarised themselves with various stages such as egg, hatching, juvenile and adult sea turtles.
In K1, the children practiced their sequencing skills by assembling puzzles depicting the different stages of a sea turtle’s life cycle.
In N2, the focus shifted to understanding threats faced by these endangered turtles, such as nest disturbances. Activities like building sandcastles or digging holes on the beach can endanger both the turtles and their eggs. The children participated in a role-playing activity through sand play where they simulated protecting sea turtle eggs by using tweezers to collect them into a cup and then counted them!
