Activity @ NTUC SAC on 7th June 2024
We presented our inaugural musical performance of the African folk song “Fatou You” at the NTUC Senior Activity Centre on 7th June 2024. Our K2 Champs captivated the seniors with their musical talents, showcasing their skills on instruments such as the violins, drums, and recorders.
In celebration of the Chinese Dumpling Festival, which coincided with the event, our Champs also delighted the audience with songs and dances related to the festival. Following the performances, our Champs engaged the seniors in a creative activity, making paper dumplings together. The event concluded with a heartwarming photo session, capturing memories with the seniors, our parent volunteers, and the dedicated staff of the NTUC SAC.
Activity @ NTUC SAC on 7th August 2024
On the eve of our National Day, 7th August 2024, our N2 Champs proudly showcased their musical talents at the NTUC Senior Activity Centre. They delighted the seniors with a selection of three local songs: “Rasa Sayang” in Malay, “朋友我的朋友” in Chinese, and “Munnaeru Vaalibaa” in Tamil, beautifully highlighting Singapore’s rich multicultural heritage. The seniors also joined in the celebration by learning rhythmic beats to accompany the music the Champs sang along. Following the performance, our Champs mingled with the seniors, warmly distributing Singapore flags as a gesture of the celebration.
The event continued with a spirited dance performance of “Stand Up for Singapore” and a musical rendition of “Singapore Town,” by our K2 Champs, featuring instruments such as violins, drums, recorders, and shakers. In anticipation of National Day, our K2 Champs engaged the seniors in creating National Day windchimes, using kitchen rolls, crepe paper, and moon and star cutouts, with enthusiastic support from our parent volunteers.
The activity concluded with the presentation of a Friendship Quilt, crafted by our teachers and Champs, to the NTUC SAC. This special quilt, made from recyclable materials sponsored by The Kindred Studio, symbolized our commitment to sustainability and community. We eagerly look forward to our next activity with the NTUC SAC, scheduled for September 2024.
