On the 3rd of April, our centre had its SSDB launching with the parents together with a representative from the Down Syndrome Association in Singapore.
For the first part of the launching, we actually involved the parents so that they’ll have the awareness about our SSDB project. Ms Lyn, the DSA representative explained and discussed to the parents what the foundation is about and the ways we can help them. The centre also asked for suggestions from the parents on how we can actually raise up funds to donate to the foundation at the same time involving the children along the way.
We also set up a photo booth for the parents and children to pose and take photos and a light snacks for them to munch and share!
The children also opened the SSDB package right after we received them. And they were so excited and happy about it.
The centre plans to have a fund raising activity together with our Open house day. We plan to involved both parents and children to come up with different ideas and activities to raise fund for our chosen charity.
The parents were responsive and engaged. They were willing to help and were able to come up with great ideas!
We are very excited and looking forward for our SSDB journey with the parents and the children!
