It was incredibly rewarding to witness our kindness project bear fruition. Our theme for 2024 is on ‘Kindness’. Kindness is a concept that we seek to inculcate in children from a young age. We specially curated activities that would intrigue children. Through these activities, they will learn about the importance of practicing kindness in their daily lives. Kindness stories were shared during our hand puppet shows. Children also penned down their thoughts together with a kindness note daily to show appreciation for their peers. We brought children to the River Safari to reinforce our theme of being kind, not just to humans but also animals. Children were in awe of the marine life and witnessed firsthand of how well the animals were being taken care of by the River Safari. Children raised many questions such as “do we need to be hardworking in order to keep pets?” and “what kind of food do we need to feed them?” They learnt that as pet owners, we need to bring our pets for grooming and take them for regular checkups at the vet clinic. We also need to ensure that we are feeding them nutritious food. We emphasized that we must be responsible pet owners. It was amazing to witness how children’s knowledge can expand when they are placed in an enriching environment. Children packed food as part of the ‘Little Entrepreneurship Project’. They were very empathetic towards the less fortunate and said that when they grow up, they want to help these people as well. It was absolutely delightful to witness the success of the Kindness Project and how it has impacted the children in their learning.
