Kindergarten 1s of PFW embarked on a journey to explore the topic on gardening with water conservation. To kickstart their journey, children brainstormed their KWL where they discussed their prior knowledge and wonders.
Children were engaged in multiple hands on activities such as planting their own spring onions and making their rain catchers to water their plants. Professional gardeners were also invited to give a talk on urban gardening. Children documented in their SSDB Journal. Parents were also tapped on to do a research with their children on how they can do their part to conserve water.
Through this project, children learnt the importance and the impact of water conservation and gardening in our urban city. Children linked their learning to ensure that they stay connected and make a difference to the community by advocating what they learnt and gifting the spring onions that they grew and harvested to the people in our neighbourhood as a gesture of spreading kindness and positivity amidst the pandemic.
