In line with our theme for this year, ‘Tiny Hands, Caring HEART’, children from Kidz Meadow Eunos has learned the importance of helping and caring for one another, regardless of who they are.
After fostering good partnership with various organisations, we have decided to sum up our SSDB journey this year with the senior citizens at Pertapis Senior Citizens Fellowship Home.
Our event started off with the children performing a Dikir Barat performance for the senior citizens. The grandmas sure had a great time as they sang along to the song titled ‘Ikan Kekek’. The children also took the chance to sing ‘Rasa Sayang’ and ‘Chan Mali Chan’ specially for our senior citizens.
Some of the children did not miss the opportunity by asking the senior citizens some questions such as their name and favourite food.
The K1 and K2 children also took the opportunity to customise a small pouch by decorating it with the senior citizens. It was definitely a good experience for the children to mingle and interact with the senior citizens.
The children also took the opportunity to explore the home and see where our grandmas sleep. The children were excited and definitely had a great time exploring the place.
As we end our 2023 SSDB journey, the children sang ‘We can Make A Difference’ for the senior citizens before bidding goodbye to them.
It was definitely a great learning experience for the children as they learnt the different ways to give back to the community.
