SSDB 2024 Doing Good Together - MOE Kindergarten @ Naval Base

DIY Pencil Holder

Our K1 children demonstrated their creativity and environmental consciousness by reusing toilet rolls to create pencil holders. Through this activity, they learned the importance of recycling and reimagining everyday items. As an extra thoughtful gesture, the children also created handmade pencil holders to gift to our centre’s security guard, expressing their gratitude for his dedicated service. This simple act of kindness and creativity highlights their growing awareness of sustainability and community care.

DIY Tote Bag

Our K2 children demonstrated their creativity and care for the environment by transforming old t-shirts into tote bags. They decorated the bags with colourful designs, adding a personal touch to each one. These thoughtful creations were also gifted to our Support Staffs as a heartfelt thank you for their dedicated service. This activity not only fostered creativity but also taught the children the importance of reusing materials, showing appreciation to others and caring for the environment around them.

Loose Parts Corner

The children collected eco-friendly recycled materials from home. Through activities involving the sorting, organizing, and use of these loose parts, the children not only learned the importance of reusing resources but also developed skills in organization, collaboration, and creativity. They carefully categorized the materials and placed them in the loose parts corner. Finally, the children collectively created a small loose parts classroom for the use of teachers and their peers. This space not only provides convenience for teachers to collect materials but also serves as a place where children can showcase their creativity. In this corner, they can independently engage in loose parts creation, transforming simple materials into creative works while enhancing their problem-solving abilities and teamwork skills.
