As part of our Centre’s collaboration with Mandai Wildlife Reserve for our SSDB Project 2024, the children had a fieldtrip to The Singapore Zoo with their families. Through this fieldtrip, the children were able to interact and learn more about the zoo animals and observe them in their natural habitat.
As we align to our Centre’s SSDB Theme, “Cherishing the Sea Lion” the children visited Pedro the Sea Lion and watched his amazing presentation. They learned about the importance of keeping the waters clean and how they can play a part in protecting the wildlife.
After the children’s visit to the Singapore Zoo, experiential activities were carried out in school to further enhance the children’s learning on wildlife conservation. They carried out activities to learn more about Pedro the Sea Lion and ways they can help to save the wildlife.
The activities helped the children to develop awareness and a sense of empathy towards the animals. It also encourages responsibility as they learn about their role in protecting the wildlife.
