Our K1 students participated in the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative, focusing on the core value of caring for the elderly. The children engaged in activities to prepare for a visit from elderly guests, including discussions on empathy and respect, role-playing, and crafting thoughtful questions.
During the visit, the children warmly welcomed the elderly guests and gathered around to listen attentively to the story “The Giving Tree.” The photos captured the children’s captivated expressions as they absorbed the wisdom and experiences shared by their guests. The elderly visitors read with great enthusiasm, bringing the story to life and sparking curiosity among the young listeners. The children’s eager faces and engaged posture reflected their deep interest and respect for the storytellers.
Following the story, an interactive Q&A session allowed the children to ask their prepared questions. The thoughtful and respectful interactions between the children and the elderly guests were heartwarming. This initiative helped the children develop empathy and respect while learning valuable lessons from their interactions with the elderly.
The visit was a memorable experience for everyone involved, fostering meaningful connections across generations and reinforcing the importance of caring for one another.
