At ChildFirst @ Mountbatten, the Pre-Nursery and Nursery children have launched a new SSDB project titled “Plant a Garden of Kindness” under the theme “Caring for our Environment.” This project aims to teach children about the importance of plants in our environment and instill a sense of responsibility towards caring for them and our surroundings. By taking charge of plant growth, we hope to inspire a genuine love for the environment and promote recycling, reusing materials, and reducing waste.
During the project launch party, children were introduced to the story ‘The Carrot Seed’ through an engaging role-play session. This story teaches important values such as patience, perseverance, and love and encourages children to dedicate their time and attention to achieve their goals. Children were excited to participate in planting edible seeds using recycled materials and will continue to work on this project together. The use of recycled materials highlights the importance of repurposing and finding creative solutions to reduce waste.
