On the morning of 2nd August 2022 (Tuesday), the children and teachers of K2 Compassion, and our Principal, Mrs Loo, worked together as a team to sort out the donated items that the parents of the Kindergarten donated for our SSDB community partner, United Medicare Centre (UMC) @ Elizabeth Drive.
The theme, “We Care! We Share!” aims to remind the children that they can do their part though they are young, to care and share what we have with the people around us, to bring love and warmth to them and make the community/ society a better place for everyone!
Through this activity, the children learnt how to sort things (and not just sort things but sort them correctly) according to the category each of them belongs to. They also learnt how to handle the food items appropriately during the sorting process. For example, they learnt how not to drop the packets of vacuum-packed rice and to lay it down gently, as well as to handle the packets of biscuits with care because biscuits are fragile and brittle. We are thankful for the many learning opportunities the children had through this SSDB activity!
After sorting out the items, the children and teachers are now sorting them back to the carton boxes, which would later be delivered to UMC at the end of the month.
