With this project , the k1 children have learnt the three ways to reduce waste and protect their environment. Lessons are conducted on different days so as to enhance the children’s knowledge.
Introduction : The teacher has discussed and explained to the children on the topic of throwing waste , the place that the waste will be brought to, and what happens when there are more waste.

Activity 1 : The children searched for the things that can be recycled in the classroom such as recycled papers and food container.
Activity 2 : Children brainstormed on the things that they can do with recycled papers and decided to make a paper boat.
Activity 3 : Teacher and children talked about reducing the number of waste. We talked about reducing the number of plastics by bringing their own paper bags to the supermarket. The children decorated their own paper bags and pretended to buy fruits from the supermarket.
(Cashier wanted to put the fruits in the plastic. Student A said, “ I have my own paper bag. I don’t need plastic bags.”)
Activity 4 : Children brought things that can be recycled from home to school. We went to the recycling bin near our school and threw the recycled things in the recycling bin.
Activity 4 : Children recycled the toilet rolls to make pencil holders.
