We collaborated with St Luke’s ElderCare Chong Pang Centre for this SSDB project. This collaboration provided a platform for our children to know the wider community as well as to reach out to them. We decided to organise a food donation drive in our neighbourhood whereby children wrote and posted letters informing the residents of the donation drive. They also went around the neighbourhood to collect the donated food items.

A great opportunity to meet our neighbours
The children learnt to take turns to post the letters as well as help each other in supporting the stool and lifting the flaps of the letter boxes for their friends.
Finally, the day of our food donation drive had arrived. Our children pushed trolleys around the neighborhood to collect the donated food items. They also gave out thank you cards which they created to thank the neighbours for their generosity and support. Some neighbours even personally dropped by our centre to pass the food items! Although it was a hot day, our children were full of smiles because they knew that they were doing their part for the elderly at St Luke’s ElderCare.
