For the last part of our project, we decided to drop by Singapore Zoo to catch a glimpse of the sea lions in action! Before that, we recapped on the questions we have asked for the zookeepers about Pedro. The children were encouraged to keep the information we have shared in mind as they watched the Splash Safari show.
‘Wow look! The sea lion can jump like the dolphin!’
During the show, the children were amazed at what sea lions can do such as jumping up like a dolphin from the water! They were actively engaged as they followed the commands given by the trainers. For example, they helped to clap to signal the sea lion to move.
After watching the show, we took the tram and explored other animals that we can show our care for. The children were delighted to spot the zebras, giraffes, lions and orangutans!
For the last stop of our trip, we decided to visit the Ranger Buddies Basecamp where the children are able to interact with the animals in a safe manner! The children were excited to have a go at petting and helping the goats to brush their hair. They were seen using their gentle hands to pet the animals.
Overall, it was a meaningful and fruitful experience for all of us! We would like to say a big thank you to Mandai Wildlife Reserve for guiding us throughout this project! The children are glad that they were able to help spread awareness through the posters they have made, and making reusable tote bags for the fundraiser. We would like to say thank you to our parents for your continuous support! We were able to raise enough funds for Pedro and was awarded ‘Wildlife Rangers’! We pledge to continue to do our part in caring for our wildlife, stay tuned for our project next year! 🦭🌍💚
