The children of SKC joined Singapore in celebrating Kindness Day SG. They explored on what ‘Kindness’ is through activities such as storytelling, craft making, role play and even listening to a kindness cheer. With one of the skool4kiz core values being ‘Care and Concern’, by fostering kindness within the children, it helps in a multitude of areas including fostering in them empathy towards others. Through this event, the children learnt how care and kindness can be shown towards different areas such as the environment and plants.
The children learnt about what ‘Kindness’ is through different ways such as listening to stories about the virtue, roleplaying different scenarios, gifting others their craft, taking care of the garden and doing a short cheer.
The children used their whole body to experience ‘Kindness’ by engaging in the ‘Kindness it’s up to us!’ dance. The children depicted different acts of kindness through their actions and formed the word ‘Kind’ using their bodies during the song and dance session!
The children were engaged in a variety of crafts related to kindness day. The N2s created their very own paper windmills in which they walked around the school and gave them to others to show their appreciation. The K1s upcycled their large tee shirts to make bags and the K2s worked together to write kindness quotes on their decorated rocks.
Have courage and be kind, children!
