On every 1st July, Singapore celebrates Singapore Armed Forces day. This year marked the 55th year Singapore celebrating SAF day. The aim of this celebration to show appreciation to all service men and women who are committed to the defense of our nation.
The purpose of SAF day is to mobilise our precious and limited manpower to build a strong and capable defence force, ready to protect our nation in times of need. It fosters a sense of duty, discipline, and camaraderie, not just among the NS men but also among the families and friends.
In our centre, we planned activities that are army related.
Parents who worked in the Uniform Group were invited to come down to the school and give a talk regarding their job. Children were engaged as they answer some questions and did a sharing of their own experiences.
Both children and teachers dressed up in green and camouflage print to celebrate Singapore Armed Forces Day. The children talked about the uniforms they were wearing. Children were engaged in different game stations, consisting of Obstacle course, mass colouring, cycling and marching around the school.
Lastly, children were engaged in art and craft activities where every level focused on different concepts, such as army puppet, hat, vehicles soldiers used, and many more.
We would like to thanks our officers for keeping us safe!
