As we are getting ready for the Food and Fun Fiesta, Second
to promote the 3 Rs, the children of Noah’s Ark CDC were directly involved in creating the props for the games. We have a total of 8 games that needed props to be made from recycled materials mostly.
As part of the Start Small, Dream Big project that Noah’s Ark Childcare and development centre has planned, carnival tickets had to be sold. Each ticket was designed to be worth $10, as seen.
As the K1s and K2s are mainly involved in planning and preparing for the event, they were gathered on the 12th of August at Noah’s Ark by 9am. The staff and children were divided into groups, with every 5-6 children being led by 2-3 staff. The groups were then sent on their ways to the nearby malls and shopping centres such as Fajar Shopping Centre, Greenridge Shopping Centre, Hillion Mall, Bukit Panjang Plaza and even Bangkit Market. The teachers guided the children to sell tickets as they promoted the carnival, as they walked outside of the mall and approached any and every stranger they saw. Once, the population at the malls decreased, the groups returned back to the centre. The groups that returned earlier, targeted every household in the nearby blocks and went up and down the blocks to continue the ticket sales. At 12:30pm, the groups gathered back at the centre for an energizing lunch, before the children were fetched back. At the end of the gathering, 331 tickets were sold which earned the project a total of $3,331. The total ticket sales by the end of the carnival on the 2nd September 2017 was accumulated to a profit of $4,060. With the help of the K1s and K2s and every staff member, this was possible. So just take a look, at the effort put in with the following pictures!
