Ronald J Sider quoted “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something and together we can change the world!” Indeed, we believe this and the younger the children start, the greater and more opportunities they can achieve for our community, country and for our earth, Gaia. With that, we embarked our new journey for our SSDB project on recycling and appreciating our front liners.
At the beginning of our project, the K2 and K1 children made pencil holders from recycled tissue rolls and they gave it to the teachers during Teacher’s Day. Teachers who are part of the front liners, had ensured the children are well and safe while their parents who are the essential workers attend to their call of duty. Teachers were constantly checking on the child’s well-being and ensuring they do not miss out on their learning during the circuit breaker. We thank our Teachers for all their hard work and care especially during this pandemic.
We also thank our health care front liners and other essential workers for their hard-selfless work, dedication and bravery during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have definitely helped to eased and improved the situation.
As our goal is to appreciate our essential workers while saving Gaia, we made use of a recycled materials such cake board to make a ‘Thank you’ frame board with our notes of gratitude to them. This token of appreciation was given to one of our K2 parent who is working as nurse in one of the hospital in Singapore. She was thankful for the beautiful frame that the children had made for her and her colleagues at the hospital and she proudly displayed it at her work desk.
