Ripple Kindness Project - SSDB 2017 initiative.

‘No one can do everything but everyone can do something!’ is our tagline for our Ripple Kindness Project.

This is in line with our focus value for this year, ‘Kindness’ with an objective to inspire our Seeds’ family; children, parents and teachers, to use their resources and creativity to give back to our society. By doing so, we hope to start off a huge ripple of kind acts that is similar to ‘Pay it Forward’ global initiative.

A launch party was organized on 27 May 2017, to invite parents to participate in this Ripple Kindness project, from preparation to the execution of the project. The response and support from parents were tremendous, many took time off from work to assist in making flowers and encouragement tags, as well as, packing care packages. Some parents also generously contributed to the cost of the project.

On 21 July 2017, together as ‘one big family’ with the other centre, Seeds Learning Place, we set out to show kindness to the elderly community at Marine Terrace, to the passersby at Marine Parade Central and Paya Lebar MRT Station.

With ready smiles, we handed out hand-made flowers, encouragement tags, tissue packs to individuals. We also went door to door to give out care packages consisting of food items to the elderly and needy households in Marine Terrace.

At the end of the project, we all felt that the collaboration and concerted effort had undeniably paid off when we saw the happy faces around us.

We have learnt that there is joy in giving and believe that we can make Singapore a better place by our acts of kindness, beginning with us first.

Children were happy to see parents helping out in the centre.

Thank you, parents, for taking time off from work! We appreciate you!

Children pledged to be Kindness ambassadors.

Beautiful teachers at work! Finally, we completed packing the care packages for the elderly and needy families.

Knocking on doors! Uncles and aunties were delighted to see our kind children.

Even though, it was a warm day but our children tirelessly knocked on every doors with a big smile on their faces. So proud of them!

Blessing our community with our flowers, tissue packs and encouragement tags.

Many passersby were surprised to see us with our gifts. Many of them thought that they had to pay for them.

We were tired but happy. This is the joy of giving!

At the end of the Ripple Kindness Project, children and parents were invited to share their thoughts. Many parents expressed their desire to have this meaningful project every year. Yeah!!!
