June builders (27th May to 31st May 2024)
Through a video on sustainability, the children were invited to share feelings and thoughts about it.
Afterwards, they were introduced to the topic of sustainabilty using pictures prompts of sea pollution and prior related experiences such as their monthly beach clean ups.
To further simplify understanding of sustainability, the children also listened and watched the video of ‘Save my World’. They observed that there are many different ways to save the world like performing the 3Rs and throwing away litter into the bins.
To round off the first week of June builders, there was a brainstorm discussion about sustainability topics they would like to learn more about. Contirbuting ideas and conducted group voting, children decided on the topic of Water. With the assistance of sentence starters (5W1H), they raised lots of questions about saving water. This enabled the children’s development into curious learners.
