Parental Involvement Activity

The Nursery Two to Kindergarten Two children were assigned a simple project to complete with their parents at home. As part of their SSDB project, they discussed the importance of being kind to the environment. The Nursery Two children were tasked with creating a poster that includes a simple caption or slogan about saving the earth or being kind to the environment. Meanwhile, the Kindergarten children were asked to share a photo of themselves doing their part to protect the earth, along with a brief caption describing how their actions helps make the environment cleaner and healthier for everyone.

“Must turn off the water when not in use.”

“Cannot throw rubbish in the sea; later, the sea animals will die.”

“My mummy says must switch off the light at home, or later no more electricity.”

“Must throw rubbish in the recycling bins.”

“When we go shopping, we can bring our own bag.”

“Don’t waste plastic. My mummy always brings her own bag to the supermarket.”

“If your boxes are still in good condition, don’t need to throw them away. Can reuse or recycle it to make something nice.”

The kindergarten children shared simple ideas on how they can reduce waste and help protect the earth. Through these activities, they learned that if they don’t do their part to reduce waste, they are not being kind to the environment. Each effort they make helps to keep the Earth a clean and welcoming home for all.

By making small changes, like conserving water, recycling, and reducing plastic waste, the children are learning that “a little kindness goes a long way.” These small acts of kindness toward the earth not only protect the environment but also create healthier places for people to live. Through this project, they learned that everyone has a part to play in protecting our environment. One small act of kindness can inspire others to do the same and teaches us that even the smallest efforts make a big difference in preserving our planet for future generations.
