MK@YS: Recognising Acts of Love

Building on the success of our Family Day event, which marked the midpoint of our SSDB Project “Love Begins at Home”, we’ve partnered with Families for Life to explore their Love lessons. For the project’s second half, we aim to:

  • Teach children various ways to express love and appreciation

  • Engage families through bi-weekly take-home activities

  • Reinforce these lessons at home

We began by introducing “Happy Birthday, Dawn”, a story that illustrates how love means giving. In the tale, Dawn’s birthday party is cancelled due to a storm, but through her disappointment, she learns a valuable lesson about love.

Following this, we explored the concept of the 5 love languages, helping children understand that love can be expressed in diverse ways.

To extend the learning, we collaborated with families, encouraging them to share their unique expressions of love and discover each family member’s preferred love language.

This project continues to foster a deeper understanding of love and appreciation among our young learners and their families.
