LV@CA Cross Level Sharing on our Gardening Project

As we approach the final phase, everyone from N2 to K2 got together to present what we have learnt throughout the gardening project. It was interesting to know that from one topic alone, the different levels branched out to learn various aspect of gardening. The platform to share allowed everyone to gain more; more knowledge, more love for nature and more confidence.

The N2s learnt shared about the “Happy and Sad Plant” experiment, and taught the others about the importance of praises and speaking kind words. One class shared some phrases they spoke to their happy plant…

“I love you”

“I want to be your friend”

“You are so pretty”

While the other class shared that despite their best efforts to water the sad plant, it did not grow as well as the happy plant for all they said to it was…

“I don’t like you”

“I don’t want to play with you”

“You are so ugly”

They also shared their special, handmade poster on “How to Have a Happy Plant”.

Both K1s came together, wrote their own lyrics to a familiar tune, and sang us a song on mixing various medium to create soil.

They also shared about caring for plants and their little experiment on planting environment, through dramatization.

The K2 prepared a digital presentation sharing about germinating and transferring of seedlings to soil. They also shared about the parts of a plant and the use of fruit enzymes as nutrients to their plants.

At the end of the session, the children were able to reiterate most of the points shared by each level.

But…

It’s not the end for us!

With all the propagating and exploration, our little gardeners have potted 50 pots of plants, like spider plants, money plant, Thai basil and mint. These plants will be sold as donation to raise funds for our beneficiary, Mercy Relief, at their Ground Zero Carnival this September.

Do join us!
