Our K2 SSDB project launch at our newly adopted community garden behind our school.
This is our allocated plot of land.
The children grow onion in recycled material (egg tray). They change water daily and observe the growth process.
Look, this onion sprouts. I see leaf.
Parent involvement: parents and children sign up as SSDB Agents.
Mr Koh: “It was a great bonding session with my child and she had fun doing gardening. I’m sure she learnt much more doing live planting than just reading from books. Thank you for organising this hands-on learning journey.”
Mummy, this is for you.
Children demonstrate great teamwork in their watering.
Recording the height of the longest and shortest leaves.
It’s our first harvest time!
Next, we are transferring our seedlings.
Here is our 2nd harvest of cai xin! After that, children brought home their vegetables and cook a healthy meal under the supervision of their parents.
Extra motivation to eat vegetables grown by children themselves 😄
