The children began to create crafts related to their theme of the term using recycled materials with their teachers.
For the Playgroup Class, the children were involved in making their bear’s cave after learning how to rote count from 1 to 5. The children then painted their tissue box brown to create the cave. Thereafter, they counted and picked 5 bears of different colours and sizes of their choice and pasted them into the cave.
For the Nursery 1 Class, the children worked together to create a beautiful garden collage with the teachers’ assistance. To create the artwork, they used a variety of recycled materials like toilet paper rolls, bubble wraps, fruit foam mesh and newspapers.
For the Nursery 2 Class, the children collected and used different coloured caps from plastic bottles to create a Bottlecap Ocean Mural together with their teacher.
The Nursery 2 children also created a Giant Octopus. They filled up the recycling trash bag with all the recyclable items to create the head of the octopus. Then, they added strips of plastic to form the tentacles of the octopus.
For the Kindergarten 1 Class, the children created beautiful butterflies to make their Butterfly Park. The children first printed their handprints with different coloured paints onto recycled paper before cutting them out. Then, they pasted their handprint cut-out onto an ice cream stick, making their colourful and beautiful butterflies.
Lastly, the Kindergarten 2 children were tasked to complete an animal collage using strips of papers from magazines. They carefully browsed through magazines to look for specific colours they need. The children displayed good teamwork as all of them helped each other in completing their project.
