In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan and our SSDB project, families of 7oaks Preschool - Bukit Batok were invited to participate in the Lighting Lives Project 5.0 in helping the needy in Singapore.
7oaks Preschool - Bukit Batok collaborated with a voluntary organization, ‘PEKIK’, to help their beneficiaries in helping their lives with our small gestures.
The objective of this event was to cultivate an act of giving, compassion and reaching out to the needy among our children.
Altogether, we successfully distributed a total of 85 bags to families in Jalan Kukoh on 14 April 2023. The children discussed the items that they would like to give those families. Their generosity to contribute generated a list of items as follows:

1 packet of ketupat rice cube

1 packet of 1kg oats

1 packet of 3 in 1 Milo

1 can of Sardine/Tuna

1 small bottle of cooking oil

1 packet of cream cracker

1 Nestle multi pack cereal

2 canned fruits
-
1 box of tea bags
The children discovered about the Nutrition-Grade Grading System during a Healthy Talk in the centre. They ensured that the food items have a healthy logo together with the Nutri-Grade mark. The items were neatly packed in recycled bags.
PEKIK organization was also collecting pre-loved Hari Raya clothes for Women, Men and Children. Families who wished to give away any Hari Raya Clothing were welcomed.
We end this year’s SSDB event with a success during this year’s Hari Raya Celebration. We sincerely thank all the contributions and support from the families.
