Every Friday is our Let’s Go Green Day! Children of all levels will bring in an unwanted toy (need to be in good condition but plan to donate or give away) from home to school. These toys will then be placed in their respective classroom to be exchanged within their peers. The exchanged toys will then be allowed to bring home to play. Children will need to bring it back on the following Friday to reuse by exchanging for another toy from the same batch of recycle toys.
The exchange of the toys will be extended to another class on end of each month. Thus, parents do not have to buy any more new toy for their kids as their children will always have a new one on every Firday!
We hope to cultivate children with a sense of responsibility of saving the earth by not always buying new toys so that lesser toys are manufactured. We want the children to understand that they do not need to spend money in order to get new toys. By exchanging toys with peers they can always have ‘new’ toys yet help save the earth.
