As a culmination activity for Term 2’s theme, ’Uniquely Singapore’, the children from Learning Vision Changi Business Park opened its doors to the children’s families for a special Food Fiesta event. During the event, the children showcased delicious items from different races in Singapore as well as simple healthy snacks for everyone to enjoy.
With this event, the children had the opportunities to demonstrate not only their food preparation skills, but also entrepreneurial skills as they invited customers and served them with a smile. All the children, including the toddlers, for as young as they are, got involved in the event. They were also given the opportunity to sell and practice their entrepreneurial skills.
In this event, there was also collaborative partnership with the PSG (Parents Support Group) volunteers. Our ever-supportive parent volunteers assisted and lend their helping hands during the Centre’s Food Fiesta event. Volunteer Mummies and Daddies helped in packing food items with such joy and enthusiasm. Other PSG members volunteered as photographers and assisted in manning some of the stalls. They all had wonderful bonding moments and enjoyed every moment of the event.
It was such a tiring and busy day for both the children and teachers as well but it was all worth the effort as smiles abound among the children, teachers, parents and all customers.
Through the partnership with Food Bank, the proceeds collected from the event will be used to buy and pack food items for the less fortunate families in the community. Teachers, parents and children will be working hand in hand to make this yet another successful event. With this outreach programme, the school hopes to develop Community Spirit among our LV children that will guide them towards becoming responsible and concerned community members. It is certainly an exciting and fulfilling event to look forward to!
