Children showed their appreciation towards their classmates by making appreciation desserts “The Giving Cookie” and “The Kindness Marshmallow”. Children reflected on some of the kind and giving acts that their classmates had helped them in the classroom. They each picked a friend to make the special appreciation desserts. Children created an appreciation card by writing “Thank You” letters and also decorate the card with beautiful colouring.
During this special cookery activity, children were seated beside the friend that they chose to show their appreciation. In conjunction with National Day week celebration, cookery ingredients were in red and white colour. Children first created “The Giving Cookie”. They spread coloured white chocolate gently on the cookie using plastic knife. They then decorated the cookie with white heart sprinkles as the topping.
For the dessert “The Kindness Marshmallow”, children performed skewing of marshmallows using toothpicks. Once the marshmallows were secured, children dipped the marshmallow into white chocolate. They completed the dessert with sprinkling red hearts on the white chocolate.
Children presented the appreciate desserts to their classmates at the end of the day where they enjoyed the delicious desserts at home with their family!
