We are thrilled to share that for our “Start Small, Dream Big” Project this year, our K2 Inventors at Shaws Preschool (Mountbatten) have chosen to work with the SPCA! Our little philanthropists headed down to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) on an exciting excursion that was packed with learning and heartwarming experiences.
During the visit, the children were taken around the facility to meet the adorable kitties at the shelter. This hands-on experience helped them develop empathy and compassion for animals, reinforcing the importance of kindness in everyday life. They also had the opportunity to learn about responsible pet ownership from an expert at the Animal and Us Academy. This session taught them valuable lessons about caring for pets, emphasizing responsibility and the commitment required to look after animals.
The highlight of the trip was when the children proudly handed over their donation of $500—proceeds from their Little Entrepreneur sales—to support the SPCA and their animal welfare efforts. This activity not only showcased their entrepreneurial spirit but also their generosity and desire to make a positive impact on their community. By participating in this project, the children are learning the value of teamwork, business skills, and the joy of giving back.
We extend a huge thank you to all the parents for your continuous support in nurturing these kind-hearted and enterprising kids! Your encouragement has been instrumental in helping them understand and appreciate the power of small actions in making big differences.
So proud of you, K2s!
Keep dreaming big and making the world a better place! 🐾
