At the end of this project, children will be able to show compassion towards their family, friends & the community. To encourage their peers on the importance of helping one another because we care for each other & are not alone. Kindness reminds us that we need to treat others how we would like to be treated.
This year, our adorable K1 & K2 children enthusiastically embarked on a Start Small Dream Big project with a heartwarming theme centred around ’Kindness’. To kick-start the project, the children were engaged through a storytelling session featuring the heartwarming story, “Let Us Be Kind” from the Nurturing Good Value Series authored by Dr. Florence Teo.
After listening to the story, the teachers actively involved the children in a thoughtful discussion about the positive values that should be nurtured & practiced. Children shared their awareness & insights on the activities they can accomplish in this project in a gratifying & fulfilling way.
Educating children about kindness & compassion through storytelling is one of the ways to inculcate good values that will shape their characters in the future. This would help them develop empathy, build their self-esteem & make connections as they think about other’s needs.
