In conjunction with Earth Day, our centre initiated the Save the Water Day on 22 April 19.
Prior to this water rationing exercise, children discussed of the importance of water in our daily lives. They also discussed on possible ways to save water with the faciliation from the teachers.
With the support from the parents, the centre embarked on the water rationing exercise, where we only provided 2 large containers of water for the day’s usage. Instead of showering, they were towelled clean. Instead of flushing the toilet, they used small pails of water after themselves. At the same time, instead of switching on the taps to wash their hands, they used the water from the pail as well.
Our in-house also made use of a pail of water for that day.
We hoped that our children learnt the importance of saving water to prevent it from depleting too quickly.
