Intergeneration Programme

This is our third year collaborating with NTUC Health for intergenerational activities through the matching by Agency for Integrated Care under the Start Small Dream Big’s “Caring for the Elderly” Theme. This year, we were very excited to have an in-person meet up with the elderly at NTUC Health Nursing Home (Jurong West).

The K2 children started off by performing a song ‘Save Our World’ to the residents. Then, they did a presentation where they shared their environmental efforts – saving water, saving energy, recycling and planting.

The children were then assigned to each table where the residents were seated. With the materials provided, the children and residents worked together to create plant tags. The children interacted with them by asking for their names and inviting them to draw and colour on the plant tags.

After creating the plant tags, the children and nursing home residents did a planting activity together. The children were observed to be considerate and respectful towards the elderly residents as they spoke gently and helped them without being asked.

Towards the end of the session, the children presented their food donations and a thank you card to the nursing home representative. Thank you NTUC Health Nursing Home (Jurong West) for this opportunity!
