To provide our friends at SAVH with some homemade instruments for them to use, the children worked with their parents at home to make one instrument each, either a drum, castanet, or shakers.
They brought back beautifully made instruments and we also attempted to make the remaining instruments in school. The children wanted to make shakers and had the idea to imprint the cover with braille alphabets that spelled out “I LOVE YOU”. The children worked together with a teacher in using a glue gun to imprint the braille letters. The children also took some time to draw the containers with markers to decorate them.
