Protect our Marine Life
Children had earlier talked about the threats to Marine Life, and one of the critical threats comes from pollution. The number of trash in the ocean is uncountable, and this has lead to the danger of not just water itself, but the sea animals too!
We had come out with one initiative to protect our Marine Life, and that is - Beach Cleaning. However, due to Covid-19, the activity was suspended. Nevertheless, this did not dampen the teacher’s objective. They did a pre-recorded virtual tour at the beach to show the children the process of beach cleaning.
The children were fascinated to see the videos. They listened and watched the video and responded well to the questions such as “Why do you think we are at the beach?”, “Tell me some of the common trash you see from the video.”, “Where do you think this trash come from?”, “Can we throw the seaweed away? Why not?”.
Children even asked questions like, “Why would people throw the rubbish when there is dustbin?”, “Why do we need to separate the trash?” Etc.
After the discussion and sharing from the video, the children decided to design a flyer to help spread the message of saving the Marine Life.
With the flyer they made, we hope that it serves as a reminder to advocate the importance of keeping our Marine Life beautiful and clean so that we humans could also lead a healthy life and environment.
