The educators had been seeing interests in the children to give back to the community! After careful planning, we organised a fundraiser cum parent collaboration to raise funds to the DSA.
Each child was given a blank canvas and paints for their contribution. The finished outcome plays a big role our fundraising event. When distributing the canvases, the children have shown enthusiasm and great ideas of what they wanted to paint. The parents were encouraged to paint with the child to create memorable memories as they embark on this meaningful journey with the children. Around 2 weeks were given for the family to complete one canvas and we loved to see how brightly lit their faces were at the outcome!
Finally the time has begun for our charity event! We had collected 35 canvases for sale and had thanked the children and the families for their efforts.
Here was our set up for the event.
Over the period of 2 days, we had placed the canvases outside and attended to the parents’ requests during arrival and fetching time! As you can see, we had provided more information to the cause of SSDB. Some knowledge were also imparted to educate the parents more about Down Syndrome.
