Children were provided with a hands-on experience, holding a bag of food waste to grasp its weight, fostering an understanding of responsible consumption and the significance of waste reduction. The session highlighted the fact that 90% of our food is imported, thus the need for mindful choices.
With a better understanding of responsible consumption, children then moved on design “Reduce Food Waste” posters. They worked in small groups and thoughts of ways to reduce food waste such as eating smaller portion and repurposing leftovers, reflecting their commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
