For little ones, friends are like the sunshine on a rainy day - they make everything brighter - Friendship is the theme that we chose this year, in line with SSDB.
Friendship plays a vital role in children’s early years where they have their first experience of kindness, sharing, and caring for others. Celebrating friendship in a fun way helps them understand how important their friends are and how special it is to have someone to laugh, play, and learn with.
Our kids celebrated that special bond among them with the delightful activity of making friendship bands from colourful straws.
They started by cutting the straws into small pieces, which were the ‘beads’ for the friendship bands. They then used the elastic string to thread the colourful straw pieces. Once they were done with the threading, we helped them to tie the ends of the string to form the bracelet. After everyone had made their bands, they were gathered for a special exchange, where each child gave his/her handmade band to his/her friend.
It was a wonderful moment of giving, receiving, and sharing happiness.
This simple yet heartfelt craft activity was more than just fun for the kids – they experienced the joy of creating something with their own hands and giving it to someone special.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed making and exchanging their friendship bands - a beautiful way for them to celebrate their friendship.
