As part of our SSDB’s learning journey on “Appreciating Singapore’s Hawker Culture” theme, we brought the children to the Children’s Museum Singapore on July 19 to let them experience the “wonders” of our hawker culture through their own eyes and other senses.
It was indeed a multisensory exploration and object-based learning experience for both teachers and children that morning at CMSG. We discovered so much about our nation’s vibrant and indispensable hawker culture through many fun and interactive exhibits spread across three galleries:
All said, we were definitely blown away by how much we learned about our hawker culture at this highly sensorial and immersive exhibition at the end of our visit . If possible, we definitely will “chope” another day to revisit the “Into the Hawkerverse” exhibition soon!
What more! The children are now so excited about the hawker culture theme that they are planning with the principal to organise a “Hawker Food Fare” makan treat to celebrate this year’s Teacher’s Day with their parents’ support.
So…akang datang…stay tuned to our next update, cheers!
